Notes for me:

We are nerfing his rejuvenation to a slower pace, and removing the additional strength from Burden. Martyr yourself for the greater good. We believe Overload can be removed entirely as we do not track that sort of thing here, and will be removing the revival from Angel's Eyes. Otherwise, we believe his skills are fine as is.

[the "just" is quite pointed -- it piques kiera's interest, but it wouldn't do to go prying into their new friend's sensitive business quite yet. that would only chase him off. no, for now they only smile, less sharply than they have been thus far, and allow him to take their hand. still, his pulse is enticing, but they're thankfully far more focused on their conversation.]

A handsome name for a charming man. [kiera can test the waters, too! probing, complimenting, but not outright flirting.]

[A kiss is pressed to the back of said hand. He notes the temperature difference once more before letting the hand go. The smile he offers is just as charming as the one before, egged on only slightly by Kiera's own encouragement.]

Clever tongue, I see. I can only imagine the trouble it's gotten you into.

[when their hand is released, it takes its place on their hip. verso's discretion is appreciated, just as they're sure their own is. they'll both feasibly have plenty of time to prod at one another's secrets, should a friendship flourish. ideally, kiera's current condition will be a nonissue sooner rather than later.]

Ahaha! I am quite the nuisance back home, I must admit. Though I dare say you have somewhat the air of a rascal, yourself.

Me? No, no. [He shakes his head, but it does little to diminish the easy grin that forms. Maybe he shouldn't be so at ease in this place but... if there's nothing to be done right away, he might as well enjoy it.]

I am an upstanding gentleman, I'll have you know. I have only terrorized a village chief... [He starts counting on his fingers, then shakes them out.] Well, the number isn't important.

[ohh, this man knows exactly how charming he is. it's entirely possible he uses it as a shield, the same as kiera. hell if they don't enjoy the dance all the same, though. they laugh, light and airy.]

Apologies, my good man! I would be loathe to call into question your exquisite reputation. I, myself, settle for harassing no less than an entire council at once.

My, my. [Verso leans back with a low whistle. His gaze sweeps over their figure, as if taking the time to reevaluate their presence.]

Clearly I misjudged your penchant for mischief.

[kiera bats their lashes daintily, perhaps even gives a slight curtsy.]

I do aim to displease.

Say, since you're new, might I recommend you the tavern? It's at the base of that tower over there. Quality wine and free comfort food. An excellent place to relax -- or perhaps cause a bit of trouble! -- after a dizzying arrival.

Something tells me that if I were to cause trouble, I would be stepping on someone's toes. [He quirks a brow at them.] But... You might be onto something. A drink would settle my nerves.

[The building they're talking about is easy enough, but he nods to them all the same.]

Don't worry about toe-stepping. The barkeep is my brother, and he's more bark than he is bite.

[they give a cut-off laugh.]

Ah! Personally, I'm trying to avoid -- drinking, this month. I would be honored to join you at a later date, though.

I'll have to hold off myself, then. [A playful grin flashes over his lips.] I promised a friend I would stop drinking alone, you see. And separated though we are, I can already feel his disappointment.

[Esquie whoos sadly in the distance.]

Suit yourself! [little shruggie!] Is there anyplace else I might help you find? There's the inn, the general store... the bathhouse. Which I mention only because it's quite relaxing after a stressful day!

You can say you want to see me naked. Plenty of people do.

[Verso doesn't even hesitate to wink. God, someone stop him.]

Anything you recommend I pick up from the general store?

[oh, kiera laughs, in a breathless cadence.]

And here I thought I would offend you, implying that I find you dirty. You were dirty all along, good ser! [they wink right back.]

Along with changes of clothing and basic survival necessities, there are things that will aid you in specific ways. Glasses that help you navigate the fog, a ring that allows you to speak with animals, a lantern whose light cannot be extinguished... More, I'm sure!

[Noted, though, that he needs to clean up. Not at all surprising, considering the fight he'd just managed to get through. He's smattered with paint and blood, of that he has no doubt.]

Glasses, rings, and lanterns. Familiar enough supplies. [Though the effects she notes are curious.]

I suppose, then, I should be off to handle my business. Wouldn't want my filth to offend.

[oh, so he's going to be the death of her! she sees how it is, even as she bursts into another fit of giggles.]

No, dear Verso, grime can have quite its own charm! Nonetheless, I do hope you find the facilities enjoyable. And should you ever require assistance, you ought to be able to find me at that bar or the barn north of it. In due time!

Dare I call it a date? [His brows lift as he takes a step or two backward. He's pretty sure he remembers seeing something that looked like a bathhouse, but that remained to be seen.]

Either way, something to look forward to.
